Solutions Engineer

Position Summary
As a Solutions Engineer you are responsible for defining and designing the architecture for new client structured data security initiatives. You will lead workshops with clients, and work closely with colleagues within engineering and customer support to ensure client satisfaction with proposed solutions. You will serve as the “Go To” resource for designing, implementing and troubleshooting complex software implementation and security issues on large-scale enterprise networks. You have a solid engineering background, as well as the capacity to adapt swiftly to different business contexts. You are able to rapidly pick up clients vocabulary, and quickly understand their goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Works directly with Enterprise customers in a wide range of industries including Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Technology, Energy and Government
- Presents technical product capabilities and feature roadmaps
- Demonstrates product capabilities with compelling use cases
- Architects network monitoring solutions based on customer network topology
- Trains customers on the proper configuration and use of the product
- Analyzes and presents summary data from customers and demonstrating product value
- Be the voice of the customer to Product Marketing and Engineering, enabling the team to respond to real world customer demands and capabilities
Minimum Requirements or Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor Degree in a Technical Area (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering); or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years experience in a hands-on, deeply technical, engineering role
- Experience in at least one large enterprise software architecture project, where scalability, security, and data integrity topics were relevant concerns
- Strong understanding of networking architecture, servers, systems design, virtual hosts, licensing, configuration management, networking security standards, and protocols
- Data Center Virtualization (VMware ESX/NSX, OpenStack/KVM, HyperV) including co-located deployments
- Experience in Linux and command line tools is required
- Travel of 60-70% is anticipated for this position
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- May include lifting 50lbs

- Public Cloud Understanding (AWS, Azure, GCS)
- Background in SQL
- Containerized Application Experience (Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes)
